The Auburn Tigers football program has been a staple of the SEC Conference since the early 1930's, and since Gus Malzahn took over in 2013, they have not had a losing season. In 2019, they were upset by Minnesota in the Outback Bowl after finishing as the No. 9 ranked team with a 9-4 record.
At one of the top ten teams in the nation, the Tigers have a long list of prospects who could make an impact in the NFL. Here are the draft projections for three of Auburn's top prospects.
1. Marlon Davidson, Defensive Line – Buffalo Bills (No. 54) or Baltimore Ravens (No. 55)
Overshadowed during his tenure at Auburn by Derrick Brown, Marlon Davidson was a sturdy, durable and versatile defensive lineman for the Tigers. His four-year college career was at its height in production during his Senior year against both run and pass, and Davidson could add some solid depth to a roster like the Buffalo Bills who love their D-linemen.
2. Noah Igbinoghene, Cornerback – Cleveland Browns (No. 41 Pick) or Atlanta Falcons (No. 47)
As a converted wide receiver, there are still some defensive skills that are a bit raw for Noah Igbinoghene, but the athleticism and explosiveness make him an intriguing project for a team lacking secondary. The Atlanta Falcons are exactly that, but the Tiger may not even reach them at 47. The Cleveland Browns may also be looking to add depth after cutting T.J. Carrie.
3. Derrick Brown, Defensive Line – Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 9)
An absolute beast on the front lines, Derrick Brown has that rare combination of size, strength and speed that had people raving about Jets' Quinnen Williams last NFL Draft. With the Jacksonville Jaguars rebuilding their whole franchise yet again, and Calais Campbell traded away, this Sacksonville front that already sports rookie breakout edge rusher Josh Allen, could get scary again in a hurry if they add Brown to the mix.
