Phillip Lindsay had an incredible season in 2018, going from an undrafted free agent out of the University of Colorado to the lead running back in the Denver Broncos' backfield by season's end. Now heading into his second season, Lindsay could be in for a massive breakout in 2019.
Lindsay was one of the league's best backs as a rookie last season, averaging 5.4 yards per carry (No. 2 in NFL) while tallying nine rushing scores (T-No. 7 in NFL). Additionally, the second-year back's 1,037 rushing yards was the ninth-highest tally in the league and he was the only running back to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing in under 200 attempts (192).
Lindsay really made the most of the rushing attempts he saw in 2018, ripping off 30 runs of 10 or more yards (No. 7 among running backs). His involvement in the passing game also gives him tremendous value in PPR formats, as his 35 receptions was the second-highest mark among Denver running backs last season.
Lindsay may not come into the season as top-10 fantasy running back, but he's absolutely oozing with potential due to his ability to maximize almost every touch he gets. This should give him a low-end RB1 ceiling most weeks, especially when given a favorable matchup, making him a true breakout candidate this coming season.
