Teams around the league are prepaing to make a run at Deebo Samuel after he requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers. One squad initially expected to be in the running is the Green Bay Packers, who parted ways with their own All-Pro wideout earlier this offseason.
It turns out the Packers are, in fact, among the teams showing early interest in trading for Samuel.

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler appeared on Friday's "Get Up!" show and said there's three teams showing initial trade interest in Samuel, and Green Bay is one of them. The others are the New York Jets and NFC North rival the Detroit Lions, per Fowler.
The Packers' interest in Samuel is no surprise, but it's still exciting to hear them confirmed as part of the sweepstakes.
Wide receiver has become a huge need for Green Bay this offseason after sending Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and letting Marquez Valdes-Scantling walk in free agency. Though Aaron Rodgers is used to getting the most out of limited options, having Allen Lazard as his WR1 isn't going to get it done for a Super Bowl contender.
The Packers remain an obvious team who could select a WR early in next week's NFL Draft as well. Still, Samuel could be the leading target for years to come if Brian Gutenkunst is able to pull off a deal.
