As the Green Bay Packers prepare for their toughest game of the year so far in Week 8, the team has been handed a concerning COVID update.
Leading wide receiver Davante Adams was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday afternoon.
Davante Adams COVID Update
Green Bay will not reveal if Adams is vaccinated against COVID-19, per NFL protocols. His vaccination status goes a long way in determining the promptness of his return. Vaccinated players must produce two negative tests 24 hours apart before he could return. Unvaccinated players must quarantine for 10 days before any chance of a return.
It's also unclear if Adams tested positive or simply came in close contract with an infected person. His placement on the COVID list comes hours after defensive coordinator Joe Barry tested positive.
The Packers are also on a short week, prepping for a Week 8 Thursday Night Football matchup with the undefeated Arizona Cardinals.
Adams leads the team with an absurd 73 targets. Running back Aaron Jones ranks second on the team with just 28 targets and is followed by tight end Robert Tonyan (25) and WR Allen Lazard (21). Adams has turned those 73 targets into 52 receptions, 744 yards and 3 TDs.
