Orioles News: Baltimore Gets Great Update on John Means Injury

Not much has gone right for the Baltimore Orioles in 2021, and the roster is currently plagued by injuries. Starting pitcher John Means has been out for nearly a month with a left shoulder strain, robbing this struggling rotation of a steady arm.
There appears to be hope on the horizon with the latest injury update on Means, though.

John Means Injury Update
The 28-year-old lefty made a rehab game start on Sunday for Double-A Aberdeen, which is great news. He threw 18 of his 25 pitches for strikes and topped out at 94 MPH on his fastball. There's serious optimism about a return to the rotation if he gets through his next two rehab starts without any issues.
Baltimore will welcome back Means with open arms. The left-hander owns a solid 2.28 ERA this season, going 4-2 across 12 starts while racking up 69 strikeouts.
The Orioles currently rank at the bottom of the majors in team ERA at 5.48, so getting Means back will hopefully help alleviate some of those struggles. Still, this 27-57 ball club is clearly looking ahead to a future top draft pick rather than planning any kind of late-season run.
