Odds to Win the 2019 Tour De France Favor Geraint Thomas

Zach Brunner

Stage 7 of the Tour de France begins Friday, July 12. To the surprise of some, 33-year-old Geraint Thomas enters the stage as the betting favorite (-130), according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The seventh stage will be an important one for yellow jersey hopefuls. It's a flat stage with a distance of 230 kilometers.

While Thomas is currently favored, he'll likely face some stiff competition from Egan Bernal (+390), Thibaut Pinot (+750).

However, there's a bit of a drop off after the first three names. Jakob Fuglsang (+1400) has the fourth-best odds to win the Tour de France, ahead of Nairo Quintana (+2000) and Mikel Landa +2500. Fuglsang is dealing with a pair of injuries, so its impressive that his odds remain this high.

Stage 7 could be a tough one for these cyclers, but it should make for an exciting race. Even though Thomas is currently the favorite, it wouldn't be a shock to see Bernal or Pinot make up some serious ground in stage 7.
