NBA DFS 3/1/2022
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 3/1, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 3/1
Luka Doncic Fantasy
Target Luka Doncic, PG, Dallas Mavericks ($10,800): There is simply no stopping Luka Doncic this season. The Mavericks star player is averaging 27.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game and draws a great matchup on Tuesday night. The Los Angeles Lakers are giving up the second-most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season and have allowed an opponent shooting percentage of 49.2% over their last three contests. Doncic's usage rate for the month of February was 41.7%, which only goes to show just how much of an impact he makes out on the court. He is worth every penny of his hefty price tag.
Anthony Edwards Fantasy
Target Anthony Edwards, SF/SG, Minnesota Timberwolves ($6,600): It's safe to say that Anthony Edwards loves playing the Warriors. The second-year pro is averaging 28.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists against Golden State across three games this season. Yes, Edwards is in the midst of a shooting slump from beyond the arc (3 for his last 28). He has proven that he is not afraid to keep shooting the ball, though. That'll come in handy in a game that features the highest point total of any on the schedule Tuesday night (232.5). Look for the former Georgia standout to bounce back in the scoring column with a massive performance.
Scottie Barnes Fantasy
Target Scottie Barnes, SF/PF, Toronto Raptors ($5,500): There may not be a better time to jump on the Scottie Barnes hype train than right now. The rookie out of Florida State picked the Brooklyn Nets apart on Monday night to the tune of 28 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. He gets to face that same Brooklyn defense tonight, a unit that has allowed at least 117 points in each of its last four games. It's worth noting that the absence of Fred VanVleet will allow Barnes to keep taking on a bigger role. Slide him into a starting power forward slot before his price jumps any higher.
Clint Capela Fantasy
Avoid Clint Capela, C, Atlanta Hawks ($6,600): Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela has long been a trusted source of double-doubles in the DFS market. The only problem is that he is averaging just 10.7 points and 12.1 boards on the year, which are his lowest marks since the 2017 season. He also draws a tough matchup on Tuesday night given the Boston Celtics are allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing centers this year. In fact, Boston is giving up just 42.0 points in the paint per game (No. 2 in NBA). That gives Capela little opportunity to live up to his price tag tonight.
D'Angelo Russell Fantasy
Avoid D'Angelo Russell, SG, Minnesota Timberwolves ($7,800): As much as Edwards must look forward to matchups against the Warriors, D'Angelo Russell must dread them. The seventh-year pro has failed to score in double-digits in three of his four games against Golden State since joining the Timberwolves and is shooting just 33.3% from the floor during that span. It makes a lot of sense since head coach Steve Kerr's squad is giving up the eighth-fewest fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season. Russell is going to be forced to rely on dishing the ball out tonight and that makes him a name to avoid in DFS.
