Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Wednesday, 10/20, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 10/20

Joel Embiid Fantasy

Target Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia 76ers ($11,000): Joel Embiid is well worth the price on Wednesday. Embiid is coming off of an MVP-worthy season in which he set career highs in points per game (28.5), steals per game (1.0) and 3-point percentage (37.7%) while adding 10.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 blocks a night. He gets an attractive matchup against a New Orleans Pelicans squad without Zion Williamson, which should open up even more rebounding opportunities for the big man. The potential for Embiid to go off and send a statement to the suspended Ben Simmons makes him an even more attractive target.

Brandon Ingram Fantasy

Target Brandon Ingram, SF, New Orleans Pelicans ($7,800): Staying in that same game, Brandon Ingram is in line to do the heavy lifting for New Orleans. Three of the Pelicans' top scorers from last year won't be suiting up in this one, with Williamson injured and the other two (Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe) departing this offseason. Ingram is fully capable of stepping up as the primary option after averaging 23.8 PPG last season (along with 4.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game). Ingram should have the ball in his hands plenty with Williamson out and the Pelicans trotting out two new starting guards.

Anthony Edwards Fantasy

Target Anthony Edwards, SG/SF, Minnesota Timberwolves ($7,600): Anthony Edwards will be at the center of a potential high-scoring affair tonight. The Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets ranked in the bottom five for most opponent PPG last season, and these teams also both ranked in the top 10 for pace. The 230-point over/under on FanDuel Sportsbook for this contest projects plenty of buckets. That's great news for the scoring-minded Edwards, who put up an impressive 19.3 PPG as a rookie. Houston also allowing the most opponent RPG last season gives the wing intriguing upside on the boards.

Nikola Jokic Fantasy

Avoid Nikola Jokic, C, Denver Nuggets ($11,400): Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic might struggle to live up to his lofty price tonight. Jokic is up against a Phoenix Suns team that held opponents to the fifth-fewest PPG and seventh-fewest RPG last season. Head coach Mike Malone also said recently he believes Jokic is dealing with a little fatigue heading into the season after becoming a first-time father to a newborn. This matchup is already tough enough, and there's potential it'll take the big man a couple of games to really get going. The other attractive center plays tonight make Jokic an avoid as the priciest option on the slate.

Jarrett Allen Fantasy

Avoid Jarrett Allen, C/PF, Cleveland Cavaliers ($6,900): Jarrett Allen was an avoid candidate several times last season due to up-and-down play. Allen may finally be settled in with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he now has two new big man arrivals to compete with in rookie Evan Mobley and Lauri Markkanen. This frontcourt, which also features Kevin Love, is suddenly very crowded. The abundance of options could lead to at least one member getting squeezed out each night, and that makes Allen hard to trust at the start of the season, especially as a shooting non-threat. Monitor how the rotation shakes out before trusting any Cleveland big in your lineup.
