After 12 seasons with six different MLB teams, reliever Daniel Hudson seems to have found a home with the Washington Nationals. Over the past three years, Hudson owns a 3.21 ERA with the Nationals, far below his career 3.86 average.

Hudson has been sidelined since June 9 with right elbow inflammation, but appears to be nearing a return. According to Nationals beat reporter Maria Torres, Hudson will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday, which is a big step in the right direction for his injury rehab.

On the year, the Nationals remain in second place in the NL East standings despite their 37-38 overall record. They trail the first-place New York Mets by just 4.0 games with their bullpen's performance a major reason why.

Washington owns a team bullpen ERA of 3.89, which ranks top-half across the MLB. On the other hand, the Nationals offense has managed just 292 runs in 75 games, which ranks 28th in baseball. Hudson, in his 12th MLB season, is a big part of the bullpen's success with his 2.59 ERA across 23 games, including a stifling 0.904 WHIP.

Despite their spot in the standings, the Nationals hold just the fourth-best odds (+1000) to win the NL East, according to the latest MLB odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. If Hudson's able to return to top form, the Nationals could keep riding their bullpen into October.
