Emotions will be on full display on Monday when Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson leads his squad against his former team, the Seattle Seahawks. On Thursday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll requested for fans to boo Wilson upon his return, leading to a response from Denver's bench boss.

Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett shrugged off Carroll's request when asked about it on Friday. While Hackett acknowledges that he heard what his counterpart had to say, "it's just about going and winning a football game" for the Broncos.

Hackett adds that playing at Lumen Field was always going to be "a hostile environment, no matter who the quarterback is out there." He also says that he knows the Seahawks "appreciate" Wilson after everything he did for the franchise, including Seattle's first Super Bowl nearly a decade ago.

"I know that [the Seahawks] appreciate [Wilson] and they know all the games that he's won, and all the things that he's done for that community... We're proud to have him here in Denver."

At the end of the day, Carroll's request was likely some kind of mind game to help give his team an advantage. He knows better than anyone else what Wilson accomplished with the Seahawks and likely wouldn't be where he is without the former nine-time Pro-Bowler's help.

After everything Wilson is done, it's more likely than not that Seahawks fans will give him a warm reception upon his return. It'll be interesting to see if the cheers last throughout the game, especially with the Broncos listed as clear-cut favorites ahead of the Monday Night Football collision.
