Miguel Cabrera recently made headlines when he became the seventh player in MLB history to accumulate 3,000 hits and 500 home runs in his career. Detroit Tigers fans will be glad to hear that his impact on the organization may not be done when his contract expires after the 2023 season, either.

Cabrera recently mentioned in an interview that his current plan is to win a World Series title before his contract comes to an end. If that doesn't happen, he will gladly attempt to win one as an assistant or coach. He just wants to spend as much time around this young and talented team as he can.

"I know that my career is going to end at some point, but I'd like to be involved the with the team, a team that has given me a lot. I'd like to share with them if that is God's will."

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch was quick to mention that Cabrera is already a part of the coaching staff in a way. His two decades of experience are being put to good use as he helps mentor sluggers like Spencer Torkelson and Austin Meadows. Cabrera is willing to do whatever it takes to win ballgames.

The 39-year-old is slashing .258/.319/.290 through his first 18 games played this season to go along with 6 runs scored, 2 doubles, 5 walks and 5 RBI. Cabrera has also made 11 All-Star games in his career and was named American League MVP in back-to-back seasons (2012 & 2013).

The Tigers have odds set at +12000 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
