If Michael Pittman is on your fantasy football team, chances are he's one of your top-two wide receivers. Having said that, the Indianapolis Colts wideout has been absent from practice this week with a quad injury, leaving managers frustrated about his Week 2 playing status.

Unfortunately, Pittman owners must deal with the worst-case scenario for Week 2 following the latest injury update.

Michael Pittman Injury Update

NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that Pittman has officially been downgraded to out for the upcoming Week 2 clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Quad injuries have been known to linger, so it'll be interesting to see how this situation affects Pittman's long-term fantasy outlook.

Michael Pittman Fantasy Outlook

Pittman is the Colts' No. 1 wide receiver and his Week 1 performance against the Houston Texas solidified that. He turned his nine receptions into 121 yards and a touchdown — good for 27.1 fantasy points and a WR5 ranking in PPR. Furthermore, he played 98% of snaps and accounted for 26% of Matt Ryan's targets.

Pittman's absence is likely a blow to any fantasy manager's lineups. His average draft position of 33 on Fantasy Pros means he was most likely drafted in the second or third round in 12-team drafts, meaning a good chunk of managers are missing their WR1/2 for the week.

Unfortunately, there aren't any reliable fantasy options to pivot to on the Colts as far as wideouts are concerned. Ashton Dulin and Parris Campbell are next up on the depth chart, but they only have 10 combined starts between them. Until they prove to be productive, they're best left on the bench or in free agency.

It'll be important to monitor Pittman's status as the season goes on. There's no word on The Duel's WR 10 PPR in Week 2 missing a significant amount of time, which is a good thing. However, as mentioned before, these type of injuries can nag, so it's possible that things could flare up again down the road.

Nevertheless, keep an eye on Sunday's Colts vs. Jaguars clash to see if Indianapolis' wide receivers step up.
