Michael Brockers Clears Air Around Jared Goff Criticism After Trade to Lions

Michael Brockers and Jared Goff were teammates with the Los Angeles Rams until Goff was dealt to the Detroit Lions in the deal that brought Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles.
Their time apart didn't last too long though, as just a couple weeks later, Brockers was also dealt to Detroit, which then made his previous quote a bit awkward.
Now, speaking on it for the first time since his trade to the Lions, Brockers is clearing the air. Brockers claims he simply said what he said as a way to get the fans excited about their new quarterback. He even claimed he texted Goff to reassure him he didn't mean any actual disrespect.
New #Lions DL Michael Brockers on saying Matthew Stafford is a level up over Jared Goff: "It was more of a fan booster. It wasn't anything against Jared. I had to text Jared as a man-to-man and say I did not mean what I said. You took me to the Super Bowl. It wasn't like that."

We're not sure how that phone call went, but Goff seems like a fairly easy-going guy, and Brockers' claim could very well be genuine. If there are any lingering issues, I'm sure both men will find a way to look past that in the interest of trying to win football games.
It will be interesting to see how this duo performs now that they are in a more challenging situation.
