Mets Get Even More Bad Injury News With Luis Guillorme Update
By Larry Rupp

The injury bug has hit the New York Mets hard this season and it doesn't look to be stopping anytime soon.
The team is fighting to win the NL East division and currently owns a 55-48 record, but utility player Luis Guillorme is set to be placed on the injured list due to a left hamstring strain.

Luis Guillorme Injury Update
Guillorme is just the latest of many Mets players to miss action this season. The 26-year-old apparently suffered the injury while rounding the bases as a pinch runner on Saturday night. While no timetable has been set for his return to the field, Guillorme's injury is not expected to be serious.
Without Guillorme on the bench, Mets manager Luis Rojas is suddenly lacking depth in the infield. The fourth-year pro was hitting .293/.406/.345 with 13 runs scored and 4 RBI before going down. He also chipped in a home run and drew 22 walks across 56 games played in 2021.
Fortunately, the team made a move at the deadline by trading for All-Star shortstop Javier Baez. He is set to start everyday and even hit a home run in the Met's dramatic 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
All things Considered, health will be a major factor in whether or not this New York squad has legitimate World Series hopes. The Mets have odds set at -230 to win the division and are currently tied for the sixth-best odds to win it all at +1200, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
