Matt Ryan Confirms Falcons Front Office is to Blame for Falling Out

For the first time in his NFL career, Matt Ryan will play a game in a non-Atlanta Falcons uniform when he finally suits up for the Indianapolis Colts in 2022. Although, ending up on a new team wasn't exactly his first choice this offseason.
Ryan recently appeared on Ryen Russillo's podcast, indicating that he wanted to remain a Falcon going forward. However, once he heard the news that the team was trying to pursue Deshaun Watson as their new starter, Ryan took that as his cue to explore other options.

Ryan added that he researched what the best destination would be for himself and his family, ultimately circling in on the Colts. Had Atlanta's management not looked into Watson, the 36-year-old said there's "a pretty good chance" that he'd still be in a Falcons jersey in 2022.
"For 14 years, every day I woke up, it was to try and help the Falcons win a championship. And that had been reciprocated on the other end for me. And so when that changed, I had to look into it."

Ryan gave his all to the city of Atlanta over 14 seasons with the Falcons, becoming the franchise leader in completions (5,242), passing yards (59,735) and passing touchdowns (367). The only thing missing from the former NFL MVP's accomplishments is a Super Bowl ring, which he hopes to get with the Colts.
Ryan can still contribute at this stage of his career and life will be easier for him in Indianapolis with the Colts surrounding him with a top-5 offensive line, a solid group of pass-catchers and one of the best running backs in the league in Jonathan Taylor.
The Colts currently have +2200 odds (T-No. 11) to win Super Bowl LVII next season, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Ryan certainly has a better chance at getting a ring with them than the Falcons, who own the second-worst odds (+18000) to take home the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
