The Miami Marlins could be without a key contributor for the next week or so. Third baseman Brian Anderson has been placed on the 10-day Injured List due to a left shoulder issue.
As the Marlins are currently just 1.0 games behind the New York Mets in the NL East, this could be a pivotal loss in what's proving to be a very close division.
There's no clear timeline for his return quite yet, but Miami will obviously hope to have his bat back in the lineup sooner rather than later. Anderson has been solid for the Marins this year, slashing .250/.316/.371 with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 6 doubles.
Hopefully the third baseman can get back on the field soon.
