The Seattle Mariners got a bit of bad news on Wednesday night, as starting pitcher Justin Dunn is headed to the 10-day Injured List. The righty is dealing with some inflammation in his shoulder, and the move was made retroactive to June 1.

Justin Dunn Injury Update

The 25-year-old pitcher has been tremendous this year, so this certainly isn't what Mariners fans were hoping to hear. He's sporting a 3.18 ERA through 9 starts, with a 1.191 WHIP and 45 strikeouts through 45 1/3 innings pitched.

With Seattle sitting just one game below .500 at 28-29, missing a start or two from Dunn could be a big blow to this team's hopes in the AL West. That said, there's not too much concrete information on Dunn's status at this point. It seems very possible that he's back on the mound sometime in mid-June.

Hopefully Dunn can get back to full strength soon.
