After the 2020 NCAA March Madness Tournament was canceled due to COVID-19 in March of 2020, it's been two years since we've seen the tournament field set.

However, thanks to an elaborate plan to host the entire 2021 NCAA Tournament in the Indianapolis greater area and other various locations around the state, March Madness is officially back this year.

And with as much madness as this tournament's single-elimination design has provided, it really feels like any team can make a run. But how many teams can really win it all when it comes to seeding?

Lowest Seed to Win NCAA Tournament

Even though a total of three No. 8 seeds have made the NCAA Tournament National Championship game since the tournament expanded to 64 teams, only one has ever won the title: the 1984-85 Villanova Wildcats.

The Wildcats defeated Patrick Ewing's No. 1 seed Georgetown Hoyas in the final, 66-64, under the guidance of head coach Rollie Massimino.

The other two No. 8 seeds to make the NCAA Tournament National Championship game were the 2010-11 Butler Bulldogs and the 2013-14 Kentucky Wildcats.
