The Detroit Lions will have their top passing weapon is back and ready to go for Week 8 action. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St Brown has passed the NFL's concussion protocol, making him fully healthy for an exciting matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Detroit's offense has a chance to get rolling again.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Injury Update
St. Brown's status was in question all week following a brutal hit against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. The 23-year-old was removed from the game via the league's new rules after displaying gross motor instability. He was not diagnosed with a concussion, but was placed in concussion protocol.
After practicing in a limited capacity on Wednesday and Thursday, St. Brown returned to a full level of participation on Friday. Things then kept trending in the right direction as he worked his way through the tests. Getting rid of the questionable label he was tabbed with was the last step this morning.
There's no denying that the Lions offense is more dangerous when St. Brown is on the field. The USC product leads the team in catches (28) despite playing in only 201offensive snaps so far. He is also averaging 55.0 yards on 5.6 receptions per game as quarterback Jared Goff's favorite target.
It's worth noting the starting running back D'Andre Swift will make his return to the field in Week 8 as well. He has been sidelined since Week 3 dealing with an ankle injury. During those first three weeks, the Lions averaged an impressive 31.7 points per game, which ranked above every other NFL squad.
Detroit is slated as a 4-point home underdog against the Dolphins, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
