There's no debate that the Cleveland Browns failed to live up to expectations this NFL season. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was supposed to take his team to the promised land, yet the Browns finished with a disappointing 8-9 record. All eyes now turn toward the offseason for the front office.

Don't get it twisted, this is still a team that could contend for the AFC North title as soon as next season. They just need to re-shape the roster a bit. With that being said, here are three of the most likely draft targets for Cleveland with the No. 13 overall pick.

Cleveland Browns NFL Draft

1. Drake London, WR (USC)

The Cleveland Browns parted ways with Odell Beckham Jr. during the season and it has left them with little depth at the wide receiver position. This draft class is filled with talented pass-catchers, including USC's Drake London. London racked up 1,084 receiving yards on 88 receptions despite playing in just 8 games for the Trojans this past fall. He used his massive frame (6-foot-5, 210 pounds) to regularly bring in contested catches deep down the field. That is exactly the type of playmaker Mayfield is lacking in the passing attack. London looks poised to come in and immediately start in an offense that finished the year with the sixth-fewest passing yards in the NFL (3,619).

2. Garrett Wilson, WR (Ohio State)

If not London, look for the Browns to target Garrett Wilson out of Ohio State. Wilson has long been heralded as one of the best route-runners in the country thanks to his ability to cut on a dime and change directions at any given moment. He can also track the ball through the air with the best of them and finished his three-year college career with 24 touchdowns (32 games played). The Browns head into 2022 with an aging Jarvis Landry leading the receiving core. Wilson's ability to play in the slot or outside gives him an opportunity to become Mayfield's favorite target rather quickly.

3. Desmond Ridder, QB (Cincinnati)

It's never too early to start developing a backup plan at the quarterback position. Mayfield dealt with a number of injuries this past season and did not look sharp when healthy, either. Cleveland could draft a project QB in order to sit and learn alongside the four-year pro. Cincinnati's Desmond Ridder fits that mold. The long-time Bearcats' starter spent four seasons leading Luke Fickell's offense and is one of the older prospects in the draft (22 years old). Ridder is no stranger to playing in big games and tossed 87 touchdowns compared to 28 interceptions in college (50 games played). Having a high-upside backup may be the kick in the butt Mayfield needs to get back to the form he showed in 2020.
