Right before the season began, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers picked up running back Leonard Fournette, clouding their backfield for fantasy football. The first three weeks did not bring any clarity to the situation, with Fournette getting 24 carries to Ronald Jones' 37.
Week 4 is a bit different, with Fournette being ruled out with an ankle injury. This should open the door for Jones to get a larger workload, putting his fantasy outlook on the rise.
Joining Fournette on the sidelines will be wide receiver Chris Godwin, giving the other playmakers in this offense many more opportunities this week against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Ronald Jones Fantasy Football Outlook Week 4
While the Chargers have a tough defense overall, the increased workload puts Jones in flex territory, with RB2 upside. He has totaled 142 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground this season, while adding another 40 yards through the air. Fournette's 8 carries and roughly 2 receptions per game should mostly go to Jones, though the veteran LeSean McCoy will also mix in.
McCoy has been given just one carry this season, but he has been targeted 12 times in the passing game. He will likely see more time on passing downs in Week 4, but it's Jones that should dominate carries, putting his fantasy value at an all-time high for 2020.
