The Baltimore Ravens worked themselves into the playoffs for the fourth time in five years after a strong 10-7 season and second place finish in the AFC North. They'll get ready to play the Cincinnati Bengals (for a second straight week) in the Wild Card Round and the fanbase and franchise cares about one thing, and one thing only: Lamar Jackon's health.
Jackson missed the final five weeks of the season with a knee injury he sustained in Week 13. His latest injury update offers a small glimmer of hope for a playoff return.
According to information from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Jackson has informed people he'll be back for the postseason. That's stemming from the competitive nature of a star NFL athlete, and Rapoport also explained "others" don't necessarily agree with that prognosis.
Jackson's status for Wild Card Round is as good as anyone's guess. But, the fact that the uber-competitive playmaker is talking about a return is reassuring, on some level, at least.
As it stands, the Ravens are considered 6.5-point road favorites against the Bengals, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. A somewhat healthy Jackson is sure to swing those odds at least somewhat in Baltimore's favor.
