Former Ole Miss offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil was set to be one of the first picks in the 2016 NFL Draft before his infamous gas mask video changed the course of his career. Supposedly hacked, a video of Tunsil smoking marijuana out of a gas mask went viral as the top 10 picks were underway.

His draft stock went into free fall before the Miami Dolphins took a chance on the eventual two-time Pro Bowler, taking him at No. 13 overall.

This undoubtedly goes down as one of the most bizarre moments in NFL Draft history. And now, Tunsil is taking a unique approach to put this moment behind him. Tunsil announced on Wednesday he is turning this pre-draft gas mask video into an NFT for charity.

Tunsil made the announcement on his Twitter six years following the event. He will produce a 1-of-1 NFT of the video, offering a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Last Prisoner Project. This charitable foundation supports individuals imprisoned for cannabis related offenses as many states around the country have fully legalized or de-criminalized marijuana.

The infamous video takes on a new chapter with Tunsil's decision, but ultimately its going to a good cause.

Tunsil is now with the Houston Texans, earning back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances in 2019 and 2020. He's started all 44 games of his NFL career.
