Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson continues to turn heads as a rookie, making the Vikings look incredibly smart after the Stefon Diggs trade. Jefferson's emergence has been a boon for fantasy managers, and the wideout could be in for an even greater production in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers with fellow receiver Adam Thielen being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Thielen has appeared in all 10 of the Vikings' games this season, turning 7.6 targets into 4.9 targets and 64.6 yards per game. The wideout also has an impressive 11 touchdown grabs, which leads the entire league. He is coming off of a Week 11 performance that saw him score 32.3 fantasy points (PPR). He still has time to be activated, but if he doesn't play, Jefferson should feast against Carolina.
Justin Jefferson Fantasy Outlook
After being promoted to the starting lineup in Week 3, Jefferson is averaging 6.6 targets for 5 receptions and 97.3 yards per game. It's a likely possibility that those numbers will improve if Kirk Cousins' primary option is on the bench.
Jefferson followed up his 21.5 fantasy points (PPR) in Week 10 against the Chicago Bears with 17.6 points in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys. For the season, he's averaging a solid 15.6 fantasy points per game.
Thielen's 76 targets are the team-high by a big margin this season, accounting for a 29.1% market share. If he can't go there will be tons of volume up for grab.
Jefferson has demonstrated his ability to have big games, posting 39.6 fantasy points (PPR) against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. Jefferson will be in prime position for another monstrous outing with some increased volume if Thielen sits, especially against a Carolina defense that is allowing the 14th-most passing yards per game (245.5)
