Julio Jones Injury Update Boosts Calvin Ridley Fantasy Outlook for Week 12
Update, 11:35 a.m. EST: Julio Jones has been officially declared inactive for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Atlanta Falcons will likely have to break out of their recent struggles without star wideout Julio Jones in Week 12, who is currently dealing with a hamstring injury suffered last Sunday. Jones' absence is a great opportunity for any fantasy manager with Calvin Ridley on the roster.
Jones has missed two games this season and was forced to exit early in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints. For the year, the wideout is averaging 7.3 targets, 5.6 receptions, and 84.6 yards per game.
Calvin Ridley Fantasy Outlook
Ridley has already established himself as one of Matt Ryan's favorite targets, leading the team in targets (77), receptions (48), receiving yards (747), and receiving touchdowns (6) this year, but his impressive numbers should only go up without having to compete with Jones for looks in Week 12.
In nine games for Atlanta, Ridley is averaging 8.6 targets, 5.3 receptions, and 83 yards per game. With Jones limited in Week 11, Ridley saw 9 targets, the most he's seen since Week 5 (when Jones was also sidelined). The receiver capitalized on his attention, grabbing 5 catches for 90 yards.
Ridley has treated fantasy managers all season, ranking as WR8 in PPR leagues. The wideout brings a heavy dose of weekly scoring, averaging 18 fantasy points per game. As his QB's go-to option, Ridley should have no problems recording one of his best games of the season against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12.
