When Juan Soto was dealt to the San Diego Padres this past trade deadline it was viewed as the biggest or most significant deadline deal to ever happen. As it makes sense when on one side you have a slew of top, MLB-ready players and prospects heading to the team trading away the best young player in the sport, a guy many consider the future and face of the entire game.

Soto hasn't quite settled into his new team or surroundings, struggling to replicate he was in Washington thus far in San Diego, especially from the power aspect.

Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic spoke to Soto and his teammates about how he is acclimating to his new environment. And when we might expect to see the Soto of old, the one San Diego traded for.

The answer is we've already started to see glimpses of it and that should be clear to anyone who was watching Game 2 of the NLCS on Wednesday. Soto himself claims he feels it all coming back a little bit each day, there's just one more little thing he's got to fix.

Unfortunately for Padres fans, Soto kept that "one little thing" to himself. But the fact that he and his teammates think he's that close to becoming the player we all know he can be once again should be comforting enough. When he'a at his best, an already scary Padres lineup becomes ever more lethal as they battle to get back to the World Series.

The Padres are -116 favorites to win Game 3 of the NLCS as the series heads to Philadelphia tied at one game a piece, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB odds.
