Just a few weeks removed from having an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver, the New England Patriots find themselves thin at the position ahead of Monday night's game against the New York Jets with Josh Gordon ruled out.
Gordon hasn't had a huge impact for the Pats this year, catching 20 passes for 287 yards and one TD, but his absence should still open up plenty of opportunity for other receivers.
Gordon played at least 80 percent of the team's snaps in each of his last four healthy games before being forced out after 31 percent in Week 6. That early exit left room for both Jakobi Meyers (four targets) and Gunner Olszewski (three targets) to get involved. Both Meyers (69.5 percent) and Olszewski (61 percent) saw significant snap shares as well.
The Pats are expected to get Phillip Dorsett back tonight, so there won't be quite as much opportunity to go around. Meyers should still be in for a solid workload as the No. 3 WR, though.
As one of the best offenses in the league, the Patriots are more than capable of supporting three fantasy-relevant wide receivers. Julian Edelman is in as good a spot as ever, and both Dorsett and Myers offer intriguing upside as viable Monday Night Football fantasy plays.
