Wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase picked up a hip injury in Week 7 of the 2022 season, and it's sent the Cincinnati Bengals on a wild ride since. Originally feared as a season-ending issue, the injury didn't even result in the stud wideout being placed on the IR.
On Wednesday, quarterback Joe Burrow shared some huge news on his favorite target's potential return date.
Burrow told reporters "he expects" Chase to play during Week 12's matchup with the Tennessee Titans. This is one week ahead of schedule from the previous date of Dec. 4th, which was floated as Chase's most likely return last week.
While Burrow isn't going to make the final decision on Chase's Week 12 status, it's safe to assume he wouldn't speak so confidently if there was any doubts about this plan. The Bengals square off with the Titans at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, and are considered slim 2.5-point road favorites per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Prior to this injury, Chase was off to a terrific start in his second NFL season. The Bengals' WR1 recorded 47 receptions, 605 yards, and 6 touchdowns over the first seven games, and had a legit shot to set career-high marks in those categories.
