Jim Irsay Hints at Colts Pursuing Veteran QB in Free Agency for 2021

Who starts at quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 is one of the offseason's biggest storylines, with the team looking like a legit contender in the immediate future. With the retirement of Philip Rivers and win-now pieces in place, it's likely that Indy will pursue a veteran QB to stay in contention, rather than hit the reset button.
Colts owner Jim Irsay has teased that his team may, in fact, pursue a veteran to keep its momentum going in 2021.
Irsay: "The type of team we have, it would really benefit us most if we could have someone who can come in and play at a high level, with a veteran vision."

Says Colts want to "take off where we left off."
It's clear that Irsay wants the Colts to stay in contention after a successful 2020 campaign. Loaded with draft capital, cap space, a top-10 defense and an opening at QB, the team is in prime position to cement its championship hopes with an already established quarterback.
One name being linked to Indy on the trade market is Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is reportedly eyeing the Colts after mutually agreeing to move on from Detroit this offseason. Adding a top-15 quarterback to an offense with weapons like Michael Pittman Jr. and Jonathan Taylor already in place could solidify them as contenders for years to come.
There's also free agents like Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jameis Winston for Indy to pursue as well.
Top teams around the league are surely keeping an eye on who the Colts add as their starter for 2021 after going 11-5 in 2020.
