Doubts started to swirl around top Cincinnati Bengals draft pick Ja'Marr Chase after he struggled in the preseason. Those overreactions, unsurprisingly, turned out to be premature after the LSU product torched the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1.

Chase certainly heard the noise from his critics, and he had a message for them following his debut.

Chase showed impressive maturity with his response to the doubters. He didn't get defensive or lob insults; instead, he's happy to let his play do the talking.

"I like to tell them enjoy the show. This is my job. Let them sit back and enjoy the show."

And his play spoke volumes against Minnesota. Chase ripped off a 50-yard touchdown score that could foreshadow an elite connection with quarterback Joe Burrow for years to come.

The No. 5 overall pick finished his day with 5 receptions, 101 and a TD. All of the talent that made him top-five pick was on full display, and his future appears to be bright.

Chase and the Bengals now head into a Week 2 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Cincinnati is a 2.5-point road underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
