The Boston Celtics are back in action on Sunday night as they face the San Antonio Spurs at 6 p.m. ET. One player's status to keep an eye on ahead of tip-off is Jayson Tatum, who is in danger of missing the contest with a hip injury.

Jayson Tatum Injury Update (3/26/2023)

Jayson Tatum was added to Boston's injury report Sunday and remains questionable to play with a left hip contusion. The 25-year-old suffered the injury during Boston's latest road trip when he fell hard to the floor against the Minnesota Timberwolves on March 15. He has continued to play through the pain.

Tatum has only missed five games on the season and the Celtics have posted a 2-3 record in those contests. The four-time all-Star serves as one part of a dynamic duo with Jaylen Brown on offense. He is averaging a career-high 30.1 points as well as 8.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this year.

It's worth noting the Celtics are now two games ahead of the 76ers in the loss column, meaning they would need to lose two more games outside of their matchup against Philadelphia to fall to the No. 3 seed. Given their favorable schedule down the stretch, Boston can afford to give Tatum some rest.

Jayson Tatum Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today

Jayson Tatum is not listed among the prop bets for the Celtics-Spurs game on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds, which is not a great sign for his availability. Keep an eye on his status as pregame warmups get underway. Jaylen Brown would be a player worth targeting in prop bets as he has averaged 30.4 points per game without Tatum this year. His point total is listed at 27.5 with -120 odds on the over.

Tatum is listed as one of the top options on the FanDuel DFS slate tonight, though, checking in with the third-most expensive price tag overall ($10,900). That shouldn't come as a major shock given the Boston star is averaging 50.5 FanDuel fantasy points per game and is facing a Spurs defense that ranks dead last in efficiency. Make sure to have a backup plan ready to go in case Tatum is ruled out.
