Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide expect nothing less than excellence. They routinely beat up other teams on a weekly basis, even in the National Championship, but it's been months since their last chance to dominate a football field.
It turns out giving Saban time to prepare is an opponent's worst nightmare.
Saban's Alabama teams have outscored the opposing teams 477-138 when given the entire offseason to prep. That's impressive even given the fact that the Crimson Tide are loaded with talent every year. And it spells bad news for the University of Miami ahead of their Week 1 clash.
Alabama kicked off its 2020 campaign with a 38-19 win over Missouri last year. They went on to run the table, defeat Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl, and blow out Ohio State 52-24 to win the national title.
Miami will look to give the Tide a test in the season-opener. They finished 8-3 in 2020 and come into this season ranked No. 14 in the country.
Alabama is a 19.5-point favorite over the Hurricanes in Week 1, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
