Here's How Kyle Pitts Can Make NFL History in Week 18

Atlanta Falcons rookie Kyle Pitts has gotten off to an electric start in his first NFL season. Pitts will look to close the year with a bang in Week 18 against the New Orleans Saints.
The tight end even has a chance to make NFL history with a good showing on Sunday.
Several single-season records that could be broken today (yes, with 17 games this year):
— Field Yates (@FieldYates) January 9, 2022
-Cooper Kupp needs 12 catches and 136 receiving yards
-T.J. Watt needs 1.5 sacks
-Jaylen Waddle needs 3 catches for the rookie record
-Kyle Pitts needs 59 yards for the rookie TE record
Kyle Pitts NFL Record
Pitts needs 59 yards against the Saints to break the all-time rookie tight end receiving record. That record is owned by Hall-of-Famer Mike Ditka, who racked up 1,076 yards during a 14-game season in 1961.
The Falcons rookie currently sits at 1,018 yards, along with 66 receptions and 1 TD over 16 games.
Pitts' status for Sunday's contest was in question following a hamstring issue that popped up earlier in the week, but he is officially active, giving him a great chance to break the record. He has gone for at least 61 yards in each of the past four games.
The Falcons could be playing from behind as 4.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, which would favor Pitts' chances of setting the record in a potentially pass-heavy game.
