Heat Acquire Victor Oladipo From Rockets

The Miami Heat were in the running for Toronto Raptors’ point guard Kyle Lowry, but they were ultimately unable to swing a deal before the deadline. That said, Victor Oladipo is not a bad consolation prize.
The price to acquire him was also very reasonable. Miami shipped Avery Bradley and Kelly Olynyk to the Houston Rockets, along with one pick swap in exchange for the two-time All-Star.

Bradley has had a minimal impact for the Heat this season, while Olynyk has played limited minutes when the team has been at full strength.
Oladipo hasn’t been quite as good this year following a knee injury that caused him to miss most of the 2019-20 season, but he’s still averaged 20.8 points per game. The Heat have struggled to find consistent scoring outside of Jimmy Butler this season, and Oladipo should help in that department.
However, the Heat have a lot of work to do if they want to make it back to the NBA Finals this season. They’re currently 22-22, which puts them in a three-way tie for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
