Don't worry, Guardians fans. Terry Francona isn't going anywhere.

Francona announced on Friday that he'll return to manage Cleveland in 2023 after guiding the team to an AL Central crown in 2022.

Terry Francona News

While the Guardians were unable to get past the New York Yankees in the ALDS, they pushed the Yankees to the limit before bowing out in five games. With the youngest team in baseball, Cleveland's future appears bright and Francona wants to be a part of it.

Francona is one of the most accomplished managers in baseball and has led the Guardians since 2013. Cleveland has finished with a winning record nine times in 10 seasons under his watch, making six playoff appearances and reaching the World Series in 2016.

The 63-year-old skipper has admitted that the job has become more physically demanding for him in recent years, but it sounds like he's excited to be back with the Guardians for another year. With the team potentially poised to accomplish great things in the next few years, it would have been a tough time to walk away.

Despite all its recent regular-season success under Francona, Cleveland is still searching for its first World Series title since 1948. Considering that Francona already ended an 86-year championship drought in Boston, it's hard to imagine a better man for the job.
