Injuries are starting to pop across the league as training camps progress and preseason play begins.

The New York Giants saw two defensive players go down in Saturday's preseason tilt against the New York Jets, and they'll be sidelined with major injuries that put their roster spots in jeopardy.

New York Giants News

Linebacker T.J. Brunson and defensive back Joshua Kalu both suffered injuries on Saturday. Brunson has been diagnosed with a season-ending ACL tear, while Kalu has a torn pectoral muscle. Both players seem destined to be placed on injured reserve with the first round of camp cuts looming.

Brunson saw minimal time with the Giants last season as a rookie. He made five appearances and recorded 3 combined tackles in 2021.

Kalu was signed to a three-year deal this offseason after featuring primarily for the Tennessee Titans on special teams. He made 28 appearances with the Titans across three seasons after catching on as an undrafted rookie in 2018.

The Giants currently own +230 odds to make the playoffs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
