MLB pitchers do not like getting shown up, especially in the postseason.
It's no surprise, then, that New York Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole did not appreciate Josh Naylor's home run celebration during Game 4 of the 2022 ALDS on Sunday.
Gerrit Cole Home Run Reaction
Naylor crushed a 405-foot home run off Cole in the bottom of the fourth inning of Game 4, bringing the Cleveland Guardians to within one run of the Yankees. The fired-up slugger celebrated his titanic blast by "rocking the baby" as he rounded the bases.
New York's ace was not amused, however. When asked about Naylor's behavior after the game, Cole gave a curt response: "Yeah. Whatever. Cute."
Cole and the Yankees ultimately got the last laugh, winning the contest 4-2 and evening the series at two games apiece. The ALDS will shift back to New York on Monday night for a do-or-die Game 5 at Yankee Stadium, with the winner moving on to face the Houston Astros in the ALCS.
The Yankees are currently -164 moneyline favorites to win the series finale on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds.
