With the Genesis Invitational quickly approaching on Thursday, we have already taken a look at the odds, but now we can examine some players to consider from various tiers from a DFS angle for your FanDuel lineup.
Dustin Johnson ($12,100):
There is good reason Dustin Johnson is the favorite heading into this event. He has absolutely dominated at Riviera. Over his last 12 starts here, Johnson has eight top-10 finishes and six top-five finishes, which includes a win in 2017 at this event. Johnson is also coming in playing fantastic golf. He won his last start, the Saudi Open on the European Tour, and also placed T-11 and won in his last two events in America. Additionally, Johnson ranks No. 1 on tour in Strokes Gained (SG): Approach The Green, No. 2 in SG: Tee-To-Green and No. 3 in SG: Total.
Jordan Spieth ($10,500):
Don't look now, but Jordan Spieth may be on his way back after a couple of years of struggles. He comes into this event off a T-4 and T-3 finish in his last two tournaments, respectively. While he hasn't played well the last two years at this event, that lines up with his past struggles. He did, however, land a ninth-place finish in this event in 2018. If Spieth truly has his groove back, this could be the week he graces the top of the leaderboard, not just the top-five.
Abraham Ancer ($9,500):
While Abraham Ancer has never missed a cut in his three starts in this event, he hasn't exactly finished atop the leaderboard either. However, at a below-average price, he presents some potential value given his current form. In Ancer's last six starts, beginning with The Masters, he has only finished worse than T-17 one time, but also has a T-5 finish in his last event, The American Express. So while his course history might not be encouraging, if he can keep this consistency going, he's got a great shot of playing above his price tag here.
