Falcons Steal Former Georgia Standout in Free Agency
By Max Staley

The Atlanta Falcons missed out on landing Deshaun Watson, but they've wasted no time addressing other parts of the roster. Atlanta went out and added to its pass-rushing unit by picking up Lorenzo Carter, who used to star for the Georgia Bulldogs.
#Giants pass-rusher Lorenzo Carter is expected to sign a 1-year deal with the #Falcons, source said. Carter had five sacks in his last four games, showing promise that ATL hopes to capitalize on.

Falcons Free Agency
While Carter has never had more than 5.0 sacks in a single NFL season, he really started to come on down the stretch in 2021. The 26-year-old put up 5.0 sacks, 8 pressures, 6 QB hits and 2 forced fumbles across his last four games of the season.
Atlanta brought him in on a one-year deal, but he could parlay that into a bigger contract if he proves last year's end-of-season breakout was legit.
Bringing in the former hometown hero seems like a great low-risk gamble for the Falcons.
