The Atlanta Falcons left everything on the field during Sunday's Week 6 win over the San Francisco 49ers. In what could be considered a borderline shocking outcome, the Falcons earned a gritty 14-point victory over the visiting 49ers.

Atlanta's secondary was a major boost, forcing Jimmy Garoppolo into 2 interceptions and holding him below 300 passing yards. Unfortunately, it wasn't all good news at the back end of Atlanta's defense.

Cornerbacks Casey Hayward and A.J. Terrell both left the game with various injuries and did not return. On Monday, head coach Arthur Smith provided a concerning update on the 33-year-old Hayward.

Smith spoke about the injuries in his secondary, deeming Hayward's as the only "one they are concerned about long-term." He did not elaborate further.

Hayward injured his shoulder during a failed tackled attempt on 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel. He walked straight off the field and into the locker room before team officially quickly ruled the veteran defensive back out.

Atlanta hung on for the victory, but they'll hope these secondary injuries don't come back to haunt them. Hayward has tallied 3 passes defended and 1 interception in six games.
