Week 10's Monday Night Football clash was a game the Philadelphia Eagles would like to move on quickly from. Not only did the Eagles' perfect season come to a screeching halt, but the referees played an unfortunate role in the ending of this close battle.
To make matters worse, the Eagles received terrible news around tight end Dallas Goedert, who suffered an injury on the same play officials missed a key face mask call.
NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported Tuesday that Goedert "will miss extended time" with the shoulder issue he suffered on the play. It's not likely a season-ending ailment, but that hardly makes the situation any better.
Goedert has been a dynamic and trustworthy option for Jalen Hurts in the league's fifth-best offensive attack. The fifth-year veteran ranks second on the team with 544 receiving yards and 3 TDs, and third with 43 receptions.
Backups Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll are poised for fill-in duties until Goedert can make a full recovery.
