Dolphins Projected to Get a First-Round Steal in Todd McShay's First 2022 NFL Mock Draft

Though the Miami Dolphins don't have their own first-round pick to use in the 2022 NFL Draft, they do possess the San Francisco 49ers' selection. That pick is currently slated for the back half of the draft, where there's plenty of talent who could make an immediate impact.
And Miami is projected to nab a steal with their its-round pick, according to Todd McShay's first 2022 mock draft.

Dolphins Mock Draft 2022
McShay has the Dolphins taking NC State offensive tackle Ikem Ekwonu with the No. 21 overall pick. That would be a massive get for Miami given that the Wolfpack star has been projected as a possible top-10 selection in other mocks.
Ekwonwu would give this o-line a massive presence at 6-foot-4, 320 pounds. He's shined at left tackle for NC State this season, earning an elite 91.6 overall grade from ProFootballFocus and a 93.8 mark in run blocking.
It's no secret the unit protecting Tua Tagovailoa this season has struggled. The Dolphins' front five is currently ranked dead-last by PFF and allowing a whopping 43.3% pressure rate. Ekwonu could immediately elevate this unit and finally give Tagovailoa time in the pocket to make plays without a defender in his face.
