Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Injury Update is Concerning

Outfielder Mookie Betts was just named to his fifth All-Star game last week, but his latest injury update should be concerning for the Los Angeles Dodgers. It seems that the star slugger has been dealing with a nagging hip injury all season and it is causing him to miss Sunday's game as well.

Mookie Betts Injury Update
Betts looked amazing in Saturday night's win over the Colorado Rockies as he finished 4-for-4 with a home run and three doubles. However, he ended up leaving the game early due to irritation in his right hip. Manager Dave Roberts said that the injury is something Betts has had issues with all year.
It is never great to hear that one of the best players on the team is dealing with an injury. While Betts is likely to avoid an IL stint, it's worth keeping an eye on his status in the coming days. The 28-year-old is simply considered day-to-day for now and could rejoin the starting lineup as early as Monday.
The former MVP has been a force in the Dodgers batting order for the last couple of years. Betts is hitting .271/.375/.503 to go along with 14 home runs and 40 RBIs across 81 games played in 2021. He also leads the team in doubles (25) and ranks second with 63 runs scored.
The Dodgers will look to get Betts healthy and ready to go for a likely playoff run following the regular season. The reigning champions remain the favorite to take home the championship once again as they have odds set at +400 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
