DFS Contests Now Legal in Iowa Opening Door to Paid Fantasy Sports Contests on FanDuel

There's got to be some celebrating going on in Iowa right now, as residents can now take part in daily fantasy sports (DFS) contests on FanDuel.

"We are excited to announce that Iowans can now enter paid fantasy sports contests on FanDuel," the daily fantasy sports provider said in a statement. "Following approval by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, millions of residents in Iowa can now access all that FanDuel fantasy sports has to offer."

That means Iowans can participate in all of FanDuel's paid DFS contests across all major sports, including the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. They already had the ability to use FanDuel Sportsbook to place sports betting wagers, after Iowa’s first sports bets were taken in August.
