Expectations for the Cleveland Browns are high heading into the 2020 season. They failed to live up to the hype last year, but with plenty of new talent and a new head coach in Kevin Stefanski, things are looking up.
One of the additions was a new starting tight end in Austin Hooper, and that competition seems to have motivated incumbent tight end David Njoku. Njoku looks to be in the best shape of his career.
Njoku's future in Cleveland could be up in the air as he heads into his fourth NFL season with just 93 career receptions. Stefanski's offenses have often featured plenty of two-tight end sets though, so Njoku should get plenty of opportunity to prove himself in 2020.
Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt has also been full of praise for Njoku this offseason, which is definitely an encouraging sign.
Njoku will have his first opportunity to prove himself when the Browns take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.
