Davante Adams is coming off another great season for the Green Bay Packers, even in spite of a toe injury that cost him four games. He caught 83 passes for 997 yards and five touchdowns in just 12 regular-season games last year.

Prorated to a full 16-game season at roughly 83 receiving yards and 6.92 receptions per game, Adams would've finished as a top-5 receiver in both total yards and catches last year.

However, missing those four games meant that he was he was heavily overshadowed by other receivers like Michael Thomas and the ultimate winner, Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, who took control of the NFL MVP race midway through the season.

Davante Adams MVP Odds 2020

The odds to win next year's MVP are out on FanDuel Sportsbook, and they give Adams long odds at +15000 to win the MVP. That's an implied probability of just a 0.7 percent chance that Adams wins the award.

Despite the longer odds, not much has changed for Adams' situation heading into 2020. He's still the Packers' No. 1 receiving option and catches passes from Aaron Rodgers. Adams has the talent and the situation to have another monster season worthy of an MVP recognition.

During 2018, Adams had 169 targets in just 15 games, an example of how much workload he can see on the Packers' offense. On the Packers' offense, Adams got more than twice as many targets as the next-closest receiving option. The Packers are very reliant on Adams' route-running and speed to operate their offense, and this really showed during his four-game absence last season.

Adams also posted double-digits touchdown totals in 2016-18, and a fully healthy year should keep him on track to return to that number in 2020. If he can max out in his yardage numbers and return to his career-high mark of 13 touchdowns, Adams could be an intriguing dark-horse MVP candidate next season.
