Dalvin Cook's inability to stay healthy may frustrate fantasy managers who rely on him, but it's been a boon for anyone with Alexander Mattison on their roster.

Most recently missing a game with a dislocated shoulder, Cook has recovered way ahead of schedule this time, however. Now fantasy managers can feel pretty good about plugging him back into their starting lineup, while its anyone who was counting on Mattison that gets burned in Week 14.

There's obviously some concern around the re-injury risk here, but Cook's upside is too high not to start him. In eight full games this season he's averaged over 100 yards from scrimmage on 24.1 opportunities (20.1 carries plus 4.0 targets) per game.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see his work reduced some, even if he stays healthy, but you're still not going to want to turn your nose up at 15-20 touches for a running back of his quality.

Mattison has averaged an absurd 24.3 carries and 6.0 targets per game when Cook sits, but has only posted double-digit touches once when Cook plays this season. Even if he sees a little more work than usual with Cook banged up, that 10-15 touch range probably isn't going to get the job done.

Mattison was the RB5 in The Duel's Week 14 fantasy football rankings before this surprising Cook news, but at this point you're not going to want him in your starting lineup.
