Chicago Cubs and many MLB teams are continuing to build out their rosters, adding Spring Training invites and minor league players to help build out their system and a contending roster.

Cubs Sign Tyler Duffey

Chicago continued that on Friday with the addition of Tyler Duffey, giving the veteran pitcher a non-roster invite and a chance to compete for a bullpen job in Spring Training.

Duffey has spent the last eight seasons with the Minnesota Twins, pitching to a career 4.57 ERA and a 29-27 record. He came into the league as a starter, but has been in the bullpen since 2017. He was on fire in 2019 and 2020, where he pitched to a 2.50 and 1.88 ERA in those years, respectively.

He now gets a chance to join a Cubs team on the rise, working their way back from contention after a rebuild and a big offseason.
