Corey Dickerson Gives Badass Response to Making Cardinals' History
By Larry Rupp

The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning 10 of their last 12 games. An offensive explosion is a big reason for that success, too. Manager Oliver Marmol's team is averaging 6.6 runs per game over that span thanks to players like Corey Dickerson stepping up at the plate.

Dickerson made franchise history on Thursday afternoon when he got a hit in his 10th consecutive at-bat. That broke the previous record of eight set by Curt Flood, Felix Jose and Fernando Tatis Sr. Dickerson opted not to gloat, though, as he already had his eyes set on his next time up.
“It’s not enough, like I want another one. That kind of mentality I just took up there each and every time.”

The impressive streak ended when Dickerson grounded into a fielder's choice in the fourth inning, but he made sure to leave Wrigley Field with the start of a new one. The 33-year-old ripped a triple in his final at-bat of the day and is now hitting a ridiculous .460 (23 for 50) since the All-Star break.
What's most impressive about Dickerson's feat is that he wasn't even signed to be a starter in St. Louis. He was brought in on a one-year deal worth $5 million in free agency to provide some outfield depth for the Cardinals. However, has has pushed Dylan Carlson for more and more playing time.
Dickerson will have an opportunity to break his own record when the Cardinals host the Atlanta Braves in a three-game series this weekend. St. Louis is a +134 underdog on the moneyline with Jose Quintana on the mound Friday night, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
