Kansas City Chiefs rookie Skyy Moore is going through some growing pains. The second-round draft pick hasn't had nearly the impact that many expected him to have on Kansas City's wide-open receiver depth chart, and he's also struggled on special teams.

Prior to the Chiefs' Week 8 bye, Moore muffed his second punt of the season against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7. After using the bye week to adjust strategy and trading for some help in the return game, Kansas City is officially considering a major change to their special teams unit.

Chiefs insider Adam Teicher reported Thursday that special teams coordinator Dave Toub said Moore will no longer be the exclusive punt returner. Instead, he'll be "part of rotation," as newcomer Kadarius Toney "could get some work" during Sunday Night Football against the Tennessee Titans.

Toney returned just one punt during his tumultuous tenure with the New York Giants but is considered a special teams threat because of his elite athleticism.

This is another setback for Moore, however, who is struggling to make an impact in his first NFL season. The 22-year-old has yet to build much chemistry with Patrick Mahomes, seeing just 12 targets across seven games. At least perhaps the competition will help motivate him to produce better results.

The Chiefs enter this SNF clash with the Titans as 12.5-point home favorites according to the NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
